Richard J. Maroon, LPCC-S
Chief Executive Officer
Rick Maroon is the proprietor and clinical director of Wolf Creek Wellness, LLC. He has been a licensed counselor for 25 years working with individuals, families and couples of all ages and cultural groups. He has been awarded Counselor of the Year and Supervisor of the Year in 2011 and 2021 from the counseling honor society Chi Sigma Iota's local chapter. He was also twice nominated and once the recipient of the Educator of the Year from the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland in 2002. Having been the Director of Behavioral Health Services for a large local clinic for 7 years, Rick decided that his passion to help others was best fulfilled by working full-time as a private practitioner. He thoroughly enjoys developing programs that allow him the opportunities to guide individuals and families toward peace, health, happiness and positive growth. Formerly an adjunct professor at John Carroll University and currently an adjunct professor at The University of Akron where he also served as the Director of The Clinic for Individual and Family Counseling, Rick enjoys working with interns and new clinicians from all over Ohio. An avid musician, Rick is the organist at his local Catholic Church. He has many interests and hobbies but mostly enjoys time with his family and close friends. He is currently on sabbatical in pursuit of further studies but remains involved with Wolf Creek Wellness Operations.
